Trooper Serioiusly Injured in Chicago Car Accident

On June 25, 2009, an off-duty Illinois State Trooper was seriously injured in a car accident, as a passenger, on Chicago’ Northwest Side. The accident occurred when the vehicle struck a light pole and reportedly caught fire at the intersection of West Lawrence and North Elston at around 5:00 AM according to an Albany Park District Police representative. The Trooper, assigned to District Chicago, was taken in serious condition to Illinois Masonic Medical Center. At this time, there are no further details regarding the Trooper’ condition or exacly what caused the vehicle to loose control.
