Amtrak Train Bound for Chicago Hits and Kills A Student

On December 16, 2009, an Amtrak train bound for Chicago hit two high school students in Ohio. The students were crossing the tracks in Holand, Ohio reportedly to beat the train. One student did and the other sustained serious personal injuries. According to the Associated Press, several drivers who were stopped near the crossing saw the accident occur. The train was on its way from Washington to Chicago. No one on board the train was reportedly injured.
