Referrals from Other Lawyers
Most cases referred to us are from other attorneys. Under the Illinois Rules of Professional Responsibility, fee splitting is allowed if certain conditions are met, which includes full disclosure and consent from the client. As practical matter, fee splitting does not impact the clients recovery and, instead, only effects how attorney fees are divided between the referring attorney and the referred attorney.
